Your tax money is at work again, whether you want it to be or not. This time, our national broadcaster and the Canada Council for the Arts will spend $1 million on something called the Creation Accelerator. In a press release, they tried to explain who will get access to some of that money.
"Successful applicants will receive an initial grant to work with a producer, along with the mentorship of CBC/Radio-Canada, on the development of an original idea. Following this incubation stage, the Canada Council and CBC/Radio-Canada will select concepts for production and potential distribution on CBC/Radio-Canada's platforms."
Yes, I'm somewhat cynical and there are no details yet on just what the criteria is or who gets the funds, but you can probably guess which subjects are likely to be greenlighted.
