A report in Radio Ink, shows that Podcasting is fast becoming the wave of the present and probably the future.
My concern is the proliferation of choice a topic that is discussed in the book the Long Tail by Chris Anderson
(I highly recommend it...even though it is now over a decade old, it is still relevant).
Here is the article on Podcasting, showing it's big gains...
Also here is a little interview with Chris Anderson about the Long Tail...

Agreed...sure engagement and listening is up but so are the 'proliferation of choice(s)' available...how many more podcasts are out there now as compared to 2012 and how do you measure numbers to make them a viable money maker?...so many new and varied programs...a lot of of it are guys who think they are smart/talented/funny venting about topics they like or know about to feed their egos...websites and traditional media players are adding a podcast to their regular programming/streams/content and marketing it as 'additional coverage' or 'behind the scenes' stuff to garner interest, get clicks, establish talent or to grow their terrestrial shows...
