Is This Story About Howard Stern's Pending Retirement True?

I found this item that says radio icon Howard Stern, one of the rare multi-million dollar radio personalities of our time, announced his retirement on his Sirius XM show Monday. An article on Radar Online indicates the longtime host, who brings in more than a few of Sirius's subscribers, indicates his health is suffering because of his workload and he plans to leave when his contract is up next year.

Of course he's said this before, only to wind up with a new and even more lucrative deal. The self-described King of All Media is now 65 and has been on radio for 35 years. He clearly doesn't need the money, but his departure, if true, would be a huge blow to Sirius, which used his name to draw a lot of subscribers.

Re: Is This Story About Howard Stern's Pending Retirement True?

No. I highly doubt it.
All he is really saying is that his contract with XM/Sirius is up for renewal in 2020 and they have already given him the heads up on all he's going to get (no matter what) for renewing.

He's not happy with the potential renewal offers so he's throwing in the towel.
If someone out there wants to offer a better deal there's no doubt that he'll take it.
