Having been attacked & pilloried a month ago on this topic, I should know better than to raise it again. But I don't know better.
The award, in which pioneer, the late Allan Waters had involvement, was created to recognize "under 30s" who have the creative energy to tackle broadcasting as a career. Results were to be announced today, April 8, 2019. Little has been heard about it, which may say something about where the industry is headed. Even if that's the case, the subject deserves discussion. No?

Only the winner was to be notified by today. It gets announced to everyone else during Canadian Music Week, I believe.

the winner is expected to keep it a secret for another month?

Hey, if they can do it for Jeopardy winners, they can do it for this!
although, it could be argued that Alex Trebec is no Allan Waters

Given that it isn't more than a mild curiosity for anyone but their family and closest friends (and maybe their current PD), that takes care of itself.

Here's hoping that the winner's Mom is proud of her son or daughter's accomplishment

Does tying it in to Cdn Music Week not assume that our up-and-coming broadcasters are all disk jockeys? What about our young newscasters and traffic & weather specialists?

Like Hank Snow, neither you or I will see thirty again. But surely you agree that recognizing the up-and-coming generation is a noble goal. No?
