A Radio First In Toronto - & I Don't Understand A Word Of It

I know it's a big deal to some, but the word "Bitcoin" usually has my eyes glazing over. Not my area and it never will be. Still, I thought it was at least worth mentioning that a world first apparently happened right here in Toronto during the snowstorm on Tuesday. I'll leave it to those more savvy than me to explain if this is a major accomplishment or not.

Apparently, some ham here used shortwave to transfer some bitcoins over the air from Toronto to Michigan. According to the linked article, it's never been done before.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go out and hire a translator to try and explain the thing to a Luddite like yours truly.

Forget bitcoin. The underlying technology, blockchain, is the future.

Ham radio nerds. Is there anywhere they can't spray RF radiation?
