Doug suffered an aneurysm just before Christmas and passed away yesterday in hospital in Brantford.
He spent 5 decades in Broadcasting working as an anchor reporter in Simcoe, Hamilton and Brantford.

I used to listen to him on CHAM, and I briefly worked with him at K-Lite FM during the summer of 1995. A great news reporter. Very sad to hear.

Worked with Doug for many years at CHAM. A good guy. Really knew his music. I remember humming a song once in the newsroom and couldn't place it. Shortly after Doug gave me a copy of Soulful Strut by Young Holt Unlimited. Knew he wasn't doing well, but sad to hear, just the same.
