"On January 7, 2019 an email was sent to all Donor Members of JAZZ.FM91 seeking support for a Requisition for a General Meeting of Members of JAZZ.FM91 Inc. The primary purpose of the meeting is to replace the incumbent Board of Directors with an alternate slate of Directors proposed by Save JAZZ.FM91. To read the letter sent to all Donor Members click here.
To view the biographies of the proposed Directors click here. (A Donor Member for the purposes of the General Meeting would be any donor who contributed at least $240 during the fiscal year ended August 31, 2018.) We have made a short video explaining the background for seeking the General Meeting."

The biggest 'Who Cares' story on the SOWNY boards.

I think there are some SOWNY posters who care about JazzFM, although I admit it's never on my radio. But it is a Toronto station and thus definitely belongs here.
My question about the video, although also completely irrelevant: is there some significance to the map that's in the shot during the entire thing? Otherwise it just seems like an odd prop.

waiting for save CKNT one day...
But...if all this doesnt happen for Jazz FM will this station actually go off the air? What are the chances? This is afterall one of the bigger stations in Toronto not quite like CHFI but, it IS on the CN Tower afterall.

And think how valuable that 91.1 frequency would be. The frenzy to get it would be something to watch. I'm sure the Evanovs, in their never-ending quest to get a decent signal into downtown Toronto, are already on it.

Its one of the best signals and for some reason seems to travel farther than something like 98.1 which is even slightly stronger and still on the CN Tower.

I think it is big story...
How can a non-profit let their best on air talent go
Not handle the Ross Porter situation properly
Not have a morning show host for 6 months
Let the magic and history of this station dwindle
Let listeners and donors down
Lose a few major advertisers
Have an air money feature that is bush league at best
Bring in 60-65% of their fall fund raising goals
Allow JazzCast.ca to promote their initiatives on the Jazz FM Facebook page...(that is a slap in the face)
CJRT was one of the original FM stations in Toronto, with a mix of on air learning and Jazz
Not honour the great announcers that have been on air in the past, like Ted O'Reilly, Ralph Benmurgui and Larry Green to name a few...
This is a big radio story, the likes we have not seen...to me radio is meant to be fun, entertaining, a positive local presence...the "new" Jazz FM is sorely lacking this feeling and vibe, it sounds hollow.
