Lyman Potts was a founding father of Canada’s music industry

This story of an amazing man in Canada's music and radio business is worth the read in today's Globe and Mail.
Dying at the age of 102, Mr. Potts was responsible for Gordon Lightfoot's first recording session. He also was one of the main drivers of breaking the union requirement of allowing only live musician music on the radio. He truly was the a driver of Canada's recording industry. Among his myriad of accomplishments, Potts rose to the level of Vice President of Standard Broadcasting. It's a great story of an accomplished life...

It should also be noted that he was the founder of The Canadian Talent Library.  It was used in some radio formats at the time like CFRB; when they were still playing music and early CKFM[ among others.
