Yesterday's post about WADV made me reach into my east listening and AC tapes and I came up with CKDS from 1981 and a rather anachronistic air check for the time. Harkened back to an earlier time as easy listening was giving way to AC, There's also about 11 minutes of CHRE FM from St Catherine's at the beginning of the tape and some Richard Gale at the end.
Also found some AC on CKFM from 1983 featuring Jay Nelson and Russ Thompson. I have more to upload from this tape including a sports commentary by Dave Hodge in the future.
Finally an air check from FM 108 from 1981 featuring Wes Atkinson. FM 108's call letters were CING but there's a station ID on the air check at 126:40 and I can't make out exactly what they say after "the sounds of Burlington stereo 108." I have more tape to upload in the future from FM 108 featuring JB with a more varied and interesting playlist.
All three air checks have been added to the bottom of Radio Miscellany.

I've been looking for an aircheck of Wes Atkinson on FM 108 for a long time. Thanks for posting!
Here's an aircheck of Wes at Country 59 in 1994 that he gave me a long time ago. He was a wonderful person who truly loved radio and the music he played. Hard to believe he's been gone 10 years.

Dale, Do you know what's said on that ID after "stereo 108". Comes up earlier on the clip as well at around 3:00.

CING 108 used to have a great oldies program in the evening.

Jay was a really good-hearted guy. When I was running out of patience with some of the management types at 590 Jay set me up to go down and speak with the decision makers at one of the Buffalo stations. I was in a quandary. Decided to stay in Canada. Thank goodness.
Jay made that option come to life. He cared. I liked him a lot. I remember him from his days on [was it?] WKBW TV. It was the ABC affiliate right? Jungle Jay. His time at CHUM was legendary. I remember the first "Hello Toronto".
Hello? Hello. Hello? Hello? Hello? Hello. and on and on and on. [And then they got even better.] I was privileged to get to work with him.

"Sing Radio" (CING)
ok makes sense but was not clear to me.Thanks Tim !
I listened to Norman B and also liked to listen to Julius Brown on FM 108. Norman B is the only DJ in the area I know that played the Blue Things and this track. I taped it and later bought an anthology of theirs on CD:
