Q 107 from 1978 and CHFI 1988

Have just uploaded two clips about 20 min each.

The first one from Q 107 from the fall of 1978 and there is only one DJ/ad break and I am not sure who the announcer is. I have an idea but not 100 %. Can someone help me ID the jock.

Second clip comes from the Saturday Night oldies show on CHFI from NewYears eve 1988  with Don Daynard and Brian Master. They play a great set of oldies and I have much more tape from the show to upload in the future. Perhaps I will feature a longer clip on or close to new years eve 2018.

Could it be Lee Eckley.  I remember him being on there when I was a kid.  But it's a far off guess.

"Dazzling"  Don Daynard with the Saturday Night Oldies show.  I was a fan too,  back in the day.

Well Jody I was on air at Q at that time.  I've listened to the clip a few times and if I was a betting man, I would say it was Dean.  Later he would leave to go back home to Vancouver.  He has remained there ever since.  Great guy and a wonderful broadcaster.

I know Lee was there at the time but it does not sound like him to me and it may be Dean Hill.

This from http://www.broadcasting-history.ca re Q 107's 1978 line-up. I know that these things are not always 100 % accurate  and I guess it's hard to be in some sense:

Line-up:
Ted Woloshyn (6-10), Bob Saye (10-1), Barometer (news/public affairs, 1-2), Bob Saye (2-3), John Donabie (3-6), 6 O'Clock Rock Report with Bob Mackowycz (6-7:30), Dean Hill (7:30-midnight), and Ron Bruchal (12-6). Weekend announcers: Lee Eckley, Wayne Webster, Murray Smith, Ritchie Yorke, and Mike Kelly. The news department included Jane Hawtin, Chuck Bridges, Paul Harrington, and Geets Romo (traffic).
