One of the Queen City’s greatest talents is marking a 50 year on-air anniversary Friday, with a show that could be equally legendary. Sandy Beach has been at it for half a century in both rock and talk, now part of a long running gig on WBEN-AM.
And he’ll mark the milestone with some other Buffalo radio giants – Danny Neavereth, Stan Roberts and the great Joey Reynolds. It airs from 9 AM to 12PM and if you can’t tune in live, they’re very good about archiving his show on the host’s home page for later listening.
Thanks to Dale Patterson for the advance notice. 2
WBEN-AM Buffalo's Sandy Beach Celebrates 50 Years In Radio With Special Show Friday.

As expected, WBEN has posted all three hours of Sandy Beach's WKBW reunion/50th anniversary celebration on its site. Worth a listen if you love old stories about the weird things that happened behind the scenes in radio.
(My favourite comes right at the end of hour three, just before sign off, where Beach talks about something that happened at a fast food restaurant after a promotional appearance involving Danny Neavereth. Happens around the 30:30 minute mark. They could never get away with something like that today. But it's a great story)

Covered with video, appropriately enough, by WKBW (TV.)

I listened to him a while ago. If you're into marble-mouthed Trump feltching, he's a keeper.
