One of the great voices of Cdn. broadcast sports is insulted by the treatment at the hands of HNIC and Rogers.

Re: Hockey Night in Canada wants Bob Cole back - but he's not talking

"I've asked him to do some games next year."
what a tactful thing for the head of Rogers to say.

After the way they experimented with Ron MacLean, this cannot be a surprise, although there may be other aspects to the story that were not made public. There's enough hockey podcasts out there, The Steve Dangle Podcast, 31 Questions, that perhaps Mr. Bob Cole will make an appearance, and in some way continue to share his wealth of hockey experience and knowledge.

Brian Burke, who the article also mentions, is a great asset to hockey broadcasts, and to the Rogers hockey family. Hope we see him next season. His views during the draft will be interesting to put it mildly.

As much as Rogers is getting things right with Twitter, they still don't post their popular "Hockey Central at Noon" show on Twitter, forcing people to go to the Rogers main site, or download the app. Unlike TSN which has "Leafs Lunch" and "OverDrive" available live and in hourly segments on Twitter.

All the best to Mr. Bob Cole, he will always be a part of why Hockey Night In Canada is still a broadcast institution.
