Quite the irony

Just read news that CTV Vancouver has gassed their two 6pm News anchors.
What caught my eye was the quote from the stations News Director which I have posted below.
The guy's name really made me do a double-take.

“On behalf of all of us here at CTV News Vancouver, a most sincere thanks to Mike and Tamara for keeping Vancouverites informed about their city each and every day,” Les Staff, News Director, CTV News Vancouver, said in a statement. “Mike and Tamara are consummate professionals, and we wish them the very best on what’s to come.”

Kind of reminds me of news caster with The Wave 94.7 (at the time) Phil Meighen ...(fill me in)...

Re: Quite the irony

or the great CHUM FM personality  Phil Inn - aka David Haydu (Geets Romo). who did some swing shifts and appeared on Peter Griffin's show, as an alter ego to Geets.

Re: Quite the irony

Sounds like something from a WKRP episode.

But apparently, you were not the only one to notice.

Reminds me of one of my favorite lines of all time on that iconic series.   Talking over the intro of a song, Dr. Johnny Fever did a station id.."WKRP in Cincinnati, with more music and Les Nesman".
