on his blog, @Torontomike has posted the following..
"There was a bit of a bloodletting at Corus yesterday. Amongst the casualties is long-time Q107 personality Al Joynes. Al Joynes had been at Q107 since 1988, although I think that includes two separate tours of duty at the station. The program directors at both 102.1 the Edge and Q107 were also let go. That's Ross MacLeod and Blair Bartrem, respectively."
(As was posted here on SOWNY earlier, Tammy Cole (CHFI & PeggyFM in Winnipeg) is apparently coming in to oversea both stations. For what it's worth, unusual in the cynical toronto radio world, there's quite a positive wave to that announcement. "Well liked" and "talented" I've heard more than once, so fingers crossed. ig.)
(Edit, I wanted to clarify that the positive wave is to Tammy coming to the station, Both Blair and Ross were very well liked and respected, and will definately be missed. ig.)

Al Joynes has had two tours of duty on Q. He was at the Rock in Oshawa in between. I believe on the morning show. Too bad about what happened to him and the others.

I haven't had ANY contact with Blair in more than 20 years...but back in the day he was extremely well liked and obviously talented. Sorry to see him lose his gig. I can't imagine that what the formerly mighty Q has become was really his doing. The programming there suggests 'corporate' to me. "Here's what we're doing now...make it work...with less money."
Hello!!!! THAT ain't gonna work!!! And Blair has to pay for their fuck ups? Typical. No wonder they have to PAY us to own their stock. Fools!!!
