It's not Ontario or New York, but this made my geeky morning to hear this, lol
You've GOT to hear this funky 80s style jingle song I recorded over the air from WNIR-FM 100.1 Akron, Ohio today. This 4200 Watt/394 foot (120 meters) signal today in Ridgway, PA. I am 139 miles (224km) away, using a modified Sony XDRF1HD, Kathrein Scala YA7 5 element yagi and Zoom H1 digital recorder fed via RCA audio output of the radio to line in of the recorder.
The WNIR signal was blasting in over 100.1 The Hero WBRR Bradford, PA 1650 Watts/650 feet (160 meters), at 39 miles(63km)away from me.
I LOVE the jingle song!!

Network was the library of themes for the late 80's in canada .
And for anyone who remembers when First choice Pay TV first launched, it was also their library of choice..

News Center - Cut 4
(There's tons of 'em in this library because it was a one time buyout. The scary thing is I could still blindly flip through the LP's and find the tracks. Talk about overused.. but so memorable now.)
(Sorry about the links, the boardhost parser is stupid.)
Somehow Chris Palmer new _exactly_ the type of music to compose for situations that ad agency producers would salivate over. He truly was a gifted, geinus composer in so many ways, and so much of his work was brilliant, but the stuff he did with Network will always be his legacy for me.
ig.
