Read It And Weep

Anything and everything about Bell absolutely disgusts me, including this decision.

I don't heart this deal, but life goes on.

RadioWiz & RadioQuiz are NOT the same person.
RadioWiz & THE Wiz are NOT the same person.

Yes. Poo-poo on this decision. It would have been better for Larche to go bankrupt, leaving all employees out of work and the listeners completely without a signal. 🎙🤔

Re: Read It And Weep

This is a very sad day for radio in Simcoe County.
Larche was a great local company, doing a great job promoting local events, and raising millions for local organizations like Food Banks and Royal Victoria Hospital.
Their stations had live announcers throughout the day, evenings and weekends, and a locally dedicated News Department.
The only thing Bell does well is cut and slash to improve the bottom line.
If I was working for Larche today I would make damn sure my resume was up to date and ready to go.
Anyone want to guess on what the under/over line is on when the axe will begin to fall ?
And before you pick a date way down the road remember, on the very date Bell took over CKVR-TV/A Channel in Barrie, more than 10 per cent of the staff was handed papers and walked out the back door.

How long has Paul been struggling with the prospect of bankruptcy, cG?

104.1 The Dock was always my favourite station driving from The GTA into Muskoka, could always count on it to play the best classic tunes. I noticed that they changed their format last year and it's now mostly 90's, perhaps indicative of the direction it will go now. There is also Hunters Bay Radio an eclectic community station up in the Muskoka region.

Totally agree.  The Dock and MOOSE FM 103.3 gives u that "up north" cottage feel.  Something Bell will mostlikely kill totally.

Re: Read It And Weep

I doubt he was, but having said that, where's the vitriol against the Larche family for bailing and selling out, as opposed to Bell making the purchase?  In situations like these, doesn't the real responsibility lie at the feet of the person selling the asset and not the group purchasing it?

Bingo! People on this board rush over broken glass to vilify the major corps. They flock to the vitriol like a farmer addicted to bovine porn. (it's real... moo) 🐮🐄
