CKIS HD1 Audio Volume Levels

Any idea why the HD audio volume level fluctuates frequently on CKIS HD1? Many times it's significantly lower than the analogue signal making the station difficult to listen to in fringe areas where the receiver is constantly switching between HD and analogue.

It's probably getting a pre-processed bus feed from the board, or at least absolute minimal processing.  FM can sound like a dogs breakfast when processed correctly but before the transmitter for a variety of reasons.  So option 1 would be the processed feed, de-emphasis and all, or 2 may be to just take the pre-processor feed, without any additional 'hd' processing.

Don't know, but I've heard the same thing a lot, and that's what it usually is.  We're not used to nuances in music any more, and not everyone is as diligent as others when ingesting the music, that's why processing on the chain is so vital, and so apparent when it's not there .
