Sportsnet & TSN Renew Deal With The NBA

But surprise - some Raptors games will be behind a paywall on Amazon Prime, which will cost you more to see!

The greed never ends.

No surprises here. I just wonder if a current Prime subscriber’s rate is going to increase as a result or if this will be an optional extra. Either way, I think it’s crap that we’re going to probably get dinged again while we’re dealing with affordability issues and salary stagnation.

Re: Sportsnet & TSN Renew Deal With The NBA

I'm a Prime subscriber. The NBA games on there are part of the subscription. No extra cost.

As for the Raptors games that will air exclusively on that platform, it's a similar deal to when the Jays are on Apple TV. Right now only two Raptors games of the 82 are scheduled to air exclusively on Prime video.

This is actually the second season of Prime airing NBA games, but last season those exclusive Prime games were not available on that platform in Canada at all. The only way you could watch them here (unless using pirate streams, of course) was if TSN or Sportsnet aired that game. I believe the Raptors were on Prime a few times last season too, but we were just not aware of it because there was still a local broadcast of those specific games on TSN or Sportsnet.

Thank goodness I'm not an nba fan, so I could care less.
What I care about is nhl, some nfl games, world cup soccer games, and cfl.
If they never aired those on the radio, I would not have any sports to listen to.

Rogers is the loblaws of broadcasting.
I don't like both companies, I just tolerate them and use there services.
I do have a favourite broadcast company in canada and a favourite grocery conglomerit, metro and stingray.
Bell's my second favourite, just because of iheart, ctv news, tsn, and 1010.
Corus is now dead last, most of there content does'nt interest me, 640 I will tune into, but its slop compared to 1010, but I do like q 107, but I love boom more.
Rogers neads to stop being so greedy, just upcharge and make us all poor is what both rogers and loblaws love to do.
