...probably people you never heard of, but one of them is going to represent this country in our first ever appearance in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. And you'll get to help choose who goes.
The voting is open online until Nov. 5th and you can cast your ballot once a day until then.

You can find a more in depth look at all 5 contestants in this Globe and Mail article, including details of a concert special where you can watch all of them in action before the voting deadline passes.
"There will also be a concert broadcast live on CBC Music and ICI Musique from the Maison de Radio-Canada in Montreal on Nov. 1, where each contender will have the chance to sing at least a couple of songs. The event will be available to stream later on CBC Gem and tout.tv, but staging will be minimal."
The reveal of Canada’s first Eurovision finalists was designed to show that we mean business

This feels very eastern Canada in representation with only one of the five contestants being from the west. I think they should have selected one entry from each province, not that hard to do, remember Rock Wars?!

A lot of francophone artists.
I voted for the singer from new brunswick, nice to reprisent a underreprisented canadian region in a national contest.
The others, montreal, ottawa, and vancouver, they already have to much reprisentation on the world stage, the east coast neads more.

Of the five, she's the only one I'm aware of. The others I haven't heard enough of to form an opinion.

I know little about Eurovision and the contest. I am familiar with Reve and Tyler Shaw. I was surprised that Shaw has had 4 platinum and 4 gold singles and has been with Sony Music Canada for 14 years. I hear his music on the radio usually A/C stations. Reve well known for her song Ctrl + Alt + Del and a couple of other dance songs. Also have heard Talk for his song Run Away To Mars that got a little airplay.
Wasn't aware that Eurovision contestants included established artists so much. I know some of the winners have gone on to big careers. I thought Eurovision was more about new unknown artists not usually signed to a record label and not veterans when it comes to touring.

The only 1 I've heard of is tyler shaw, but I wanted to give the up-and-comming one from the east coast my vote.
She sounds good, and the east-coast is not as well-known in the rest of canada.
My family's from newfoundland, and the small amount of info about our culture that the average ontarian knows about newfoundland compared to quebec, b.c, and even alberta is very sad.
I've met canadian-born people that never even heard of cape breton island or the amount of east-coast talent we have, examples, the rankin family, great big sea, the fables, and reda macNeil.

Just remember some of these names are known in Canada. I'm guessing almost none of them are stars in Europe. The Eurovision Song Contest could help change that, depending on who gets picked to represent this country.

This isn't the senate, it's real democracy.
