His name was Eric Bauza and he was able to do what no one else could - take the place of the great Mel Blanc.
Bauza was chosen as the modern voice of such popular Warner Bros. classic characters as Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and others, and was most recently heard in the movie "Coyote vs. Acme," in which Wile E. Coyote finally sues Acme Corp. for all the gadgets he bought that backfired in his face as he chased down the Roadrunner.
The Scarborough native's death, from a heart condition, was sudden - he'd made a post to Instagram just a few hours before he passed.
He was only 46 and it's not clear who - if anyone - could replace him as the voice of so many iconic cartoon characters.

Such a loss, and so young too.

There are not many people who can do what he was able to. I hope this doesn't mean the end of Bugs and his friends.

I recently read a piece about Eric Bauza. He had such a unique talent and they will certainly have a tough time finding a replacement, especially someone that could do such a variety of characters voices. I was particularly impressed that he was a Scarborough lad that had done so well for himself and gone way too young. R.I.P. Mr. Bauza.

Here's my chat with Eric Bauza. The man loved his GTA nostalgia, including the 80s and 90s radio giants.

Turns out Bauza recorded two characters for an upcoming Simpsons episode, his final performance. It airs Nov. 15th.
