Re: Montreal hockey writer Red Fisher dead at 91

was he inspiration for Red Fisher of Scuttlebutt Lodge and in turn for the Red Green show, or am I thinking of someone else?

You are thinking of someone else but it's easy to be confused.

The other guy in this case was also named Red Fisher - an outdoorsman who hosted  radio and tv programs

I crossed paths with Montreal's Red Fisher on several occasions.

RIP Mr. Fisher

I was confused about them as well.

Here's the wiki page on the "other" Red Fisher.

Mr. Fisher will be buried in Montreal on Wednesday

He was preceded in death by 10 days by his wife Tillie.

She passed January 9th

Tillie Fisher was 90

They were married 69 years & counting

Also interesting to note that Don Cherry made no mention of Red's passing on his Saturday night tv spot

Cherry always blamed Fisher in large part for getting him fired in Boston

Hell of a long grudge
