Despite the availability of apps, Bluetootth and even in a few older vehicles, CDs, good old-fashioned AM/FM radio is still the king of the dashboard in Canadian cars.
The study was conducted by research company Signal Hill, which found that 46% of all in-auto listening came from the radio. Just 27% used streaming apps on the go, while 11% prefer YouTube music services behind the wheel.
Still, despite the numbers, those behind the study admit radio use is shrinking every year.
“Like the overall audio landscape, in-car consumption is dynamic and changing,” (researcher Matt) Hird said. “While radio maintains a strong lead, streaming services are claiming an increasing share. If we combine YouTube and music streaming services, the gap between streaming and AM/FM is closing quickly.”
There are also numbers about the feelings toward A.I.-generated music and more.
