I never voted for Thomas Mulcair when he was head of the NDP, but I really like him as a political analyst on the radio. He had a regular segment on CFRB every Monday morning at around 6:55 AM, in which he would give his take on the goings-on in Ottawa. I found his thoughts interesting and often filled with behind-the-scenes minutiae I never knew. Plus, he was often brutally honest without any partisanship.
He took the summer off as he always did, and came back for a few segments in September. And then, all of a sudden, he was gone, replaced by what John Moore now calls "Money Monday." It's nowhere near as good and I know for a fact that Mulcair is still with CTV as a political analyst.
Why did they suddenly drop the segment on the radio? It was probably the only good thing about getting up early on a Monday!

I was wondering the very same thing RA.

Tom also wasn't on CTV's Quebec election coverage last night. He does similar pundit duties for French network TVA so likely he was there. Chantal Hebert wasn't with CBC either, she appears on Radio-Canada as a Quebec commentator on politics along with her duties on CBC's At Issue.
