David Pritchard was one of my favorite Toronto DJ's and he was on all three of the Toronto rock FM's. His tenure at Q 107 was very brief, maybe one month. I recorded about 80 minutes of him on Q 107's Psychedelic Sunday on VCR and uploaded that to the site many years ago. A clip came up on my Youtube feed that said Psychedelic Sunday with David Pritchard on Q 107 and I thought it was taken from my site but it was not. A very brief clip but I remember listening to that particular show because he motioned a Blues Project release on Rhino. When I rediscovered my tape I thought it might be the same with the Blues Project but it was not but now all these years later I have found it.
Reminds me of a reel to reel tape I bought from Ring Audio of WBUF during their AOR days when they had an oldies weekend and I recorded some of it on cassette but the Ring Audio tape I found was much longer and unfortunately that has gone sticky now and is almost useless but I think I digitized it when it was still good.
Here's a cassette recording snip I just made of that very same Blues Project LP David mentions as I did buy it some years after David's mention. The track is an old CHUM FM chestnut which I think I heard on the radio the last time on Reiner Schwarz's show on CIUT in 2014.
Blues Project on Rhino Snip Recorded to Cassette
and here's that fortuitous YT clip I discovered today:

Thank you for posting that. David Pritchard was also one of the funniest people I ever met, We had many dinner parties where guests were gasping for air, when he told his stories… because they were laughing so hard. He was also a very talented visual artist. He attended OCAD. He was, for his time one, an expert on everything Beatles, and many people may recall his radio documentary series on the Beatles which was syndicated world wide. He passed away so young. He gifted me with a very large artwork which people say is reminiscent of Warhol, - the Fab Four. It hung for many years in my boardroom and now hangs in my home. Everyone who sees it is amazed by his talent. Of all of the broadcasters I’ve know or worked with over the last 55 years, I think David had the most diverse set of skills.

David was not only an expert on the Beatles but in music in general. He played and had a great knowledge of every kind of music from Classical, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Rock and Electronics. Unfortunately I was rarely able to stay up late enough to catch his all night show on CHUM FM but he used to create electronic tape loop programing that he incorporated into his show, uncredited. He had a Electronics show on CFNY called A Rainbow in Curved Air. I liked the title and went and bought the album of the same name. He released an electronics album called Nocturnal Earth Worm Stew. You can hear him during various eras on the site and his musical knowledge shines.
I believe as a teenager he had a pirate radio station n Willowdale.
I wish they had given him more than a passing mention on the CFNY Doc because his iteration of the station was the best IMHO. The David Marsden era tightened up free form to make it more palatable for the mainstream ( and I don't think they would have achieved the status they did without the tightening). True free form however was best exemplified in Toronto by the early CHUM FM and the first few months of CFNY under David Pritchard, I wish I had saved "The Only One" T- shirts I had from NY at the time.
