Rod Black is doing a pretty good job doing the mid-morning show on AM640. He's the latest old broadcaster brought back to the airwaves in the past few weeks, as the station struggles with finding fill-ins.
So far, we've heard names like Rick Ralph, Barb DiGiulio and now Rod Black. (He's on again Friday and all next week.)
The real question is how long can they keep this up? How many semi-retired broadcasters are left that they can turn to before they run out of them? And more importantly, who will take their places on a permanent basis? Having a well known guest host is fun for a while, but it's no way to build an audience.
