My thinking is simply that Bell will now carry on with a two person team for mornings on Chum FM.

The general rule is to have the regulars in place during ratings. NOT those who will indeed no longer be with the station after the ratings period.
Maybe it's an effort on Bell's part to do things cheaper?
It's also good to see how numbers are with only two people at this point...
