Hopefully, they'll show it on the air and not go to a commercial.
At a time of increasing tension with our neighbour down south, the Buffalo Bills have confirmed they will be playing both the Canadian and U.S. anthems before the start of their home games this year in a show of solidarity. It's bound to piss off a certain person in Washington, but it's a wise move for the club, which has thousands of fans north of the border.
The gesture received wide praise on social media from radio and TV figures in both countries, including a familiar Toronto morning personality.
“A first-class gesture at an important time. Thanks, Bills!” wrote Greg Brady of “Toronto Today.”

The networks rarely if ever carry the anthems before regular season NFL games.

That would be a shame, but not a surprise. I'd love to hear the crowd's reaction. I'm guessing it might show up on the news after the first game.

I thought Buffalo Bill's and Sabres always played the Canadian anthem at their games. They do this because of being a border town and to acknowledge all of the Canadians that come to the games in Buffalo. Like Dale said regular NFL games don't usually show the anthem. A lot of NHL broadcasts also don't in the US. I always wondered why Canadian networks do so much. In the playoffs maybe, but why for regular season?

I think the Bills were just trying to make a point in a tense time. I have a feeling this will become a news story after game 1 - at least in Canada.

According to the Toronto Star, the Canadian anthem will be performed by the Barenaked Ladies. That should also garner it additional attention.

Looks like this is already a news story in the US. Bills to honor their northern fans by having 'O Canada' also performed at home opener against Lions | AP News
I was wrong about the Canadian anthem at Bills games, this is a first. However the Sabres have played O Canada for years at the beginning of every home game. Maybe another reason in addition to the goodwill is the fact that this is the home opener for the Bill's in the spankin' new stadium.
