Some here will see the name Jaye P. Morgan and ask "who?," a rather ironic turn of events considering the death of the famed Dolly Parton the next day. She was a pretty well known singer in the mid 50s, who hit the Billboard Top 10 several times.
But she was best known to another generation entirely as one of the bawdy and mischievous panelists on The Gong Show, a Chuck Barris competition devoted to the worst acts in the world, a sort of anti-America's Got Talent. Morgan was a regular on the show until her antics during one segment got her thrown off the program for good.
She was not seen much after that.
So what could she possibly have done on a TV show devoted to bad acts and bad taste that was so egregious, she got thrown off the program?
The answer is in her official obit, below.
Jaye P. Morgan made it all the way to 94 before being gonged off this mortal coil for good.
