Entrants can begin submitting their names between August 31st and September 9th, if they think they have what it takes to represent this country in the long running Eurovision Song Contest. It's not that well known here, but has been an institution and major broadcast event overseas for decades.
Canada became eligible when the CBC officially joined the European Broadcasting Union earlier this summer.
The contest has launched the careers of several famous names, including ABBA and Celine Dion (representing Switzerland at the time.)
If you're interested in throwing your voice in the ring, the CBC has a landing page here.

According to the Toronto Star, the finalists for the Canuck choice will have their videos posted online and you'll be able to vote for the one you want to represent this country. Those numbers, along with a panel of judges to be announced soon, will choose who gets to go to the big show.
