It continues to be the one station we can't get here, thanks to a weak affiliate in low power WBBZ in Buffalo. But despite its non-existent signal into the GTA, Channel 67 still draws a lot of eyeballs nearer to the border, thanks to its affiliation with MeTV.
It's a low budget start-up network that's become a big deal in the U.S., packed with favourite reruns, often presented in a special theme or packaged way, that keeps people coming back for more - and putting up an antenna just to be able to receive it.
It proves there's still life in the old broadcast TV world yet.
"Today it reaches more than 96 percent of U.S. households through over 177 affiliates, making it one of the most widely available broadcast services. In many markets, MeTV occupies a secondary digital channel, accessible simply by scanning for free signals with an antenna. This accessibility has fueled its remarkable growth and fostered a devoted following that rivals far larger cable networks."
Now if only it came in here!
