John Tory In For John Moore Again Next Monday
John Moore is taking a long weekend, which means you’ll be hearing John Tory on CFRB again Monday.
I have no problem with people taking a day off, especially in the summer. But didn’t he just come back from a full month off a few short weeks ago? Now he’s leaving again, albeit only for a day. How much vacation time can one person get? Nice gig if you can find it.
For those who don’t like Tory, Greg Brady will be back on AM640 when the new week dawns, after taking Thursday and Friday off.

Tory had mentioned that he would be back in the foreseeable future, just thought it would be a bit more “foreseeable”!

It’s probably not going to happen, but there have been rumours flying around that John Tory Jr., the former mayor’s son, is considering a run for the office his dad once occupied. Junior denies it and it seems to be just an exaggerated report for now. And with entrant eligibility closing at 2 PM Friday, it’s probably a moot point.
But what if he was running? Would that disqualify Senior from going on CFRB and talking about the mayor’s race or even hosting NT1010 mornings until after the election? He would obviously have a vested interest in the outcome. Could he reasonably comment on what was going on if his son was in the mix?
We’ll probably never know, but it sure would be a fascinating issue to contemplate, leaving 'RB with a huge hole to fill until November every time Moore wants a day off.
