ScientistsTurn Earth's Radio Waves Into A Kind Of Music

Ever wonder what lightning sounds like? Not thunder, but its bolt-like counterpart.

What does ice audio seem like to the human ear?

How about the siren song of the sea?

Scientists have taken the earth's radio waves and turned them into a kind of music, all of it recorded in the place with perhaps the least interferece on earth - Antarctica. It's a very weird story about a different kind of "radio" and I wouldn't recommend it as a constant playlist.

"When converted into audio...the radio waves from space make “weird and wonderful noises.” Some crackle. Some whistle. Some chirp like birds at dawn. Now those signals have become music."

It's the sound of the planet no one has ever heard before and if you're curious what tune Mother Earth has been silently singing all these years, you can hear ths strange symphony at the link below.
