So much Toronto radio tea was spilled in this wonderful chat with Maureen Holloway yesterday, and I highly recommend listening to the entire episode.

Brad - not sure that's a fair analysis. If you listened to the whole thing, which I did, Maureen had lots of nuggests, which I would guess many of us didn't know. Good chat as always, Mike.

Had to laugh at Troy Scott & Julie Adam being thrown under the bus by Holloway! On one hand you feel bad for her, on the other hand she was probably making over $500,000 a year, so instead they got a 2-4-1 deal with Pooja and Gurdeep making that combined, AND gave BT an edge up on CP24 in the process..... how can anyone disagree with that strategy? The person that screwed her was Gurdeep

In theory sure, but it hasn't paid off, at least on the radio side. The show's been underperforming the station by a wide margin most of the time since they started. Yes; it takes a long time for a morning show to gain traction and there's a huge opportunity around the corner with Marilyn's retirement, but they haven't had a positive impact yet.

First, why are you singling out Gurdeep over Pooja? She was easily the bigger star on CP24, and that's why her name's first.

Second, how is any of it his (or their) fault? They didn't take her job; they were offered a new one. Is there a piece to the story that I'm missing?

Did you miss the part about saving half-a-million smackers per year, messing up your competitor, and having a good try at improving BT? It was the right thing to do. Keeping Holloway was not going to work any better than it had been, which was also underperforming the station. I reckon it has paid off. It's hard having a morning show perform on-par with a station that's always in first place from workday tuning...

Because Maureen mentioned in the clip that she told Rogers management that she wanted "Gurdeep" to be her co-host. One has to think the Pooja wheels began to turn in that moment. If he cared to work with Maureen, he could've, but he partnered with Pooja knowing Maureen would be left in the dust. 

​Gurdeep's not necessarily to blame, but Maureen could've been better off had she not mentioned him and had he expressed interest in working with Maureen. I guess it's true what they say, "Mo" Money, Mo Problems.

You're just saying she's "easily the bigger star" because she's an attractive woman and you're a man..... I'd bet females would lean towards Gurdeep, and males would lean towards Pooja. They've both had the exact same spotlight for years
