Normally, Rob Fai is the host of Corus' weekend morning show. But he's hosting the AM drive show on the station Thursday, as Greg Brady takes some time off.
And talk about getting up early - Fai is based in Vancouver, which means his 6 AM sign-on here was at 3 AM B.C. time. Now that's a long day.
It's only the start of the summer vacation merry-go-round this year. CFRB's John Moore has previously told listeners he plans to take an entire month off before the Fall. He still hasn't confirmed when that will happen, but expect to find out soon.

Fai is finishing up the week on Friday. He's Ok, but I really hope Brady is back next week.

Anyone checked out the am640 Toronto twitter page recently. It is entirely Greg Brady Show content. Very odd.

Can Fai stick around to cover 9 to noon? Permanently?

When you take the shtick out of Brad's show, it can be very interesting. He does manage to find smart guests and the unscripted chatter often produces good results.

Fai was back again on Monday. That's three morning shows in a row, plus he's now been doing the weekends across the Corus network. This makes seven days straight and counting. No word on when Greg Brady will return or when his substitute host will get a break

Greg Brady's back, after apparently taking an extra long weekend, which started on Thursday.
Not that he'll be here long. He's also taking this coming Friday off, and combined with Canada Day on July 1st, he'll be getting another day off next week, too.
Fai was fine, but I always prefer a morning host who's actually in the city where he's broadcasting from. A guy in B.C. can't possibly catch all the vibes and the mood of a city if he isn't in it.

Greg Brady went home to London to care for his mother who had surgery.

If that's the case, I'm kind of surprised he wasn't away longer. I know what its like to have an ill family member and have to leave them behind for work - especially when you're in a distant city. I wish his family well and it makes sense he should take more time off.
Not really sure who would take his place on the all important morning show if the need arises. Rob Fai is OK, but he's not a morning show host and he's not based here. Plus, he has the weekend show, so he can't do it long term. AM640 does not have a lot of ready replacements, as seen by what's in the timeslot once (and hopefully one day soon) occupied by Alex Pierson.
