Mod Squad episode today [ June 4 ] may be of some interest to radio people. The premise is the team investigates a stolen car ring that is connected to a rock and roll radio station. Might be some vintage studio scenes ?

Did anyone happen to catch the previously mentioned Mod Squad episode, I thought I had set my DVR to record it, but apparently I did not. Just curious if any in studio scenes were part of the festivities.

Copper. The paint code originates from 1962 Cadillac.
325 ft lbs torque was good get up and go for mid-seventies. As everyone knows the car model was a Formula (6.6L) debadged to appear like the Esprit. I thought I saw a quick scene with the 'Formula' nameplate on the right fender but I couldn't tell you which episode.
To my mind the beginning 2 years were great, the middle got wobbly, and the last 2 years shop worn. (Even when they took Jim out of L.A. for NYC work) The David Chase written volumes are revelatory knowing what he did later. I especially appreciate that all his episodes had some aspect of rock'n'roll or FM radio music in them, even if it was just a set of drums in a living room for no apparent reason. On one of the last shows a character said "I'm going to the Springsteen concert".

As long as you didn't get a Monday or Friday car. The later Gen2 and most of the Gen3 models had atrocious build quality (in addition to pussified power plants).
I say this as a fan and former owner of a few Camaros. Still, I hated the colour of his Firebored.

The Rockford Files holds up quite well thanks to good writing and of course the infectious personality of James Garner.
Not so for The Mod Squad.
Yikes.
It's so corny with campy acting.
Trivia -- I actually shook hands with Tige Andrews when he came to Vancouver for a labour Day telethon.

I have noticed that a fair number of the "classic" TV shows were cheaply done and sort of strange why they were popular in the first place. Charles In Charge, and Coach are two more that come to mind. I agree about The Mod Squad, watched it one day and could only stand about 15 minutes.

Of all the old classic TV series CHCH has been running that I've seen, the "Odd Couple" was the most watchable .. by far.

An unappreciated classic that was never a ratings blockbuster on ABC, but a wonderful show. And its final episode was one of the great TV finales of all time. Yet it almost never gets mentioned in the list of classic endings.

@ Chrisphen. I had 3 consecutive Camaros , all bought new in 74, 75 and 76. The 74 was a Z/28, all were 350, 4 speed . I still see the odd one now and then . I rewatched the first episode last week, I always loved the bathroom scene where Rockford drops William Smith with the soap on the floor trick and the roll of quarters in his fist. That episode showed the Firebird as both a 74, and 76 in different scenes. The rear window is a dead giveaway .
