    Some Well Known TV News & Sports Faces Win Canadian Screen Awards

    Is City TV's Cynthia Mulligan the Best Local News Anchor in Canada? The Canadian Screen Awards judges think so. She won the prize at the annual ceremony, with some well known names taking home other honours.

    Global National's Dawn Friesen came away as Best National Anchor, while CTV's W5 claimed the Best News and Information honour.

    And the Best Play-by-Play Sports Announcer was Dan Shulman, the voice of the Blue Jays on Sportsnet.

    It’s great to see that our broadcasting industry honours their own! My only comment would be that it would have been nice to see Buck Martinez win, being that it was his last year on-air, but that’s showbiz, even in the Great White North!
