Here's hoping we get a couple of happy surprises, instead of audio 'coal in the stocking' when various radio hosts take their Christmas vacation time away from the mic.
Jay Michaels does a great job filling in for Roger during the morning show over on 104.5 CHUM FM. Dave Trafford can keep John Moore's fans content on Newstalk 1010. It would be a big change to hear an unknown, "green" talent getting their shot to prove themselves this holiday season.
Tomorrow is Stafford's last show for two weeks, and here's hoping we get a Christmas miracle, and Alex Pierson fills in.

640 will probably have their Bored Bunnies, interns, janitors and the cafeteria staff fill in. Wouldn't be surprised if they ran C2C 24/7. Maybe have more shilling hours for My Pillow, junk jewellery, precious metals, ointments, real estate and that VERY ANNOYING car salesman singing his damn spot.

Actually, another important thing to note might be who celebrates what normally.
With Christmas being on a Monday this year, maybe that week can have hosts that are Jewish?

Tony Chapman, marketing whiz, is filling in for Jerry Agar this morning. He's got an interesting way of looking at things.
Whoever fills in, on whatever station, radio etiquette pretty much means that when you announce your name, that name needs to be immediately followed by the phrase " filling in for" almost every time. Most people filling in are really classy and modest about the temporary gig. And perhaps one could hope that we could skip the lengthy "you may know me from my...." every.single.time. as one popular personality is known to do.

Naww that just means boosting the full time/overtime paycheck.
Round up some part time wages with Mark Weisblott or someone not already in regular rotation.

Genuine apologies for mispelling Peter Shurman's name. I'll be looking in, as the Brits say, next week when he's on. It'd be great if we could hear Arlene Bynon sometime over the holidays as well, as others with discerning taste have opined.
grilled.cheese you are a fine fellow, the Simpsons/Sherman and Mr.Peabody bit made my day.

Chapman for Agar is a great step up. Of course, Ed the Sock for Agar would also be a step up.

Imagine Ed the Sock filling in on Jerry's show with his co-host Jim the Gym Sock, which would of course be the latest Newstalk 1010 sock featuring the features of Jim Richards.
I listened to both Chapman and Shurman this morning. Pretty enjoyable conversation on both stations, I just prefer Tony's advertising and marketing viewpoint. Politics aren't my cup of joe.
Arlene Bynon's on AM640 sitting in for Tasha this afternoon.

Wednesday morning and over on am640's morning show the vacationing Mike Stafford is filling in for the vacationing Matt and Supriya. Lorne H. was scheduled to fill in, however, he's really under the weather. Wow, Stafford really is a class act. Clearly Corus needs to start building some kind of a damn farm team.
