Media Outlets Among Those Free To Enter During Doors Open Toronto

Ever wanted to go, as Charlie Rich once sang, "Behind Closed Doors?" You'll get your chance at this year's Doors Open Toronto, in which members of the public can wander around places they don't normally get to see.

Among this year's media related organizations taking part: The Toronto Star, which will let those interested in the newspaper business inside its still relatively new digs at 8 Spadina Ave. Another place to get a peek behind the scenes: TVO H.Q. at 2180 Yonge St.

According to the event's website, here's what you'll see at CICA:

"All weekend, TVO will be celebrating its 55-year legacy, 'opening the vault' of its archives to display nostalgic artifacts from classic TVOkids shows like "Polka Dot Shorts", offering meet-and-greets with hosts from TVO programs, and special visits from Polkaroo."

Then there's Netflix Canada, another first on the list. No tickets will be required to enter the doors of the El Mocambo, the theatre where legendary artists, including the Rolling Stones, have played in its storied past. And you can explore the backstage area of Second City on Harbour St., where some of the greatest comedians of the past 50 years originated.

You see the full list of all the Open Doors here. The event runs on May 23 and 24th and is 100% free.
