It was Sept. 7, 1927, when history records the very first ever television transimssion. It wasn't much to see - a barely there beam of light. But no one knew then what it would become. While online streaming is threatening to take its place, the principle of those moving pictures beamed into your home hasn't changed much. 

Now  a new website is counting down to that fateful 100th anniversary of the first TV signal, publishing a new weekly feature on of some TV's major milestones along the way. As of Sunday, there are 498 days to go. 

Some of the exhibits on display include the debut of I Love Lucy, the controversial television version of Amos 'N Andy - acceptable then, anathema now, how Disney helped use TV to fund Disneyland and more.
