Things are looking up a bit, after looking down for way too long.
"The last few years haven't been kind to Sirius XM shareholders. The media stock has declined for five consecutive years, shedding more than two-thirds of its value in that time. The operator of the satellite radio monopoly has faced challenges in wooing young drivers with easy access to streaming apps through connected cars. Its own brazen acquisition on that front -- a $3.5 billion stock deal for the Pandora platform seven years ago -- hasn't been a game changer."
But that doesn't mean the hits won't keep on coming, with its portfolio improving a bit in 2026.
Is This Struggling Value Stock Going to $0?

Satellite radio is basically a "gap" technology between broadcast and streaming. It's the cassette of radio.

Satellite Radio is a must have when I'm shopping for a new car. I bought the vehicle I'm driving now in 2024. I looked at some vehicles I really liked but they didn't offer SXM.
When we were in Florida this year, I bought a used 2025 Kia Soul to drive when we're there. It isn't equipped for SXM. But I won't miss it down there. The Tampa Bay area has a rich variety of over the air radio.

I know you don't consider streaming radio but how about streaming SXM. I have two cars one with the radio and one without. I use the one without more often but with the SXM phone APP and it has more channels but you can get every station that's on the actual radio. I also access SXM on my computers and TV as well. You only need one account and can listen in a variety of ways.

I've been a long time SXM fan and subscriber. However, as this last year's subscription was running out last month I once again called them to cancel.....as I've done every year.....unless they could give me the same plan for the same price....$5.99 a month. The best they could do was around $10 a month so I said no. They're selling a product that is a non-commodity.....a service.....if they don't sell it to me then it's not like they can just sell that one to someone else anyways. So for the first summer in a long while I'll use the radio or music on a USB or some other free service (WXYG - The Goat). What's really weird is that no one from SXM even called me back to try and get me to re-sign.....that's how much they cared.

I wouldn't even know how to do that. I suppose the day is coming when SXM will be streaming only. At that time, I'll have to cancel my subscrition.

Sounds like they are taking better care of NEW subscribers:
New subscribers get a $4.99 monthly rate for 2 years, but then the new price will be $24.99 monthly...

I called to cancel, was paying $5.99, was offered the $4.99 for a year to stay so I did. Didn't even have to speak with anyone, all through phone prompts

I have a subscription for my vehicle and a secondary subscription for a portable unit in the house. Somehow the portable unit became damaged so I called and asked them to cancel that part of the subscription. Instead, they sent me a new unit for free.

Well, this is certainly an interesting rumour. For now, that's all it is. Stay tuned.
