What Is Yet ANOTHER Version Of Jeopardy For $2,000, Alex?
Is it possible to have too much of a good thing? I've almost lost count of the number of Jeopardy versions there have been over the years - including the most recent, Pop Culture Jeopardy, that debuts May 11th on Netflix. And then there was that just released one-off YouTube episode.
But now there's yet another one, this time airing on Hulu and Disney+ (and possibly ABC) in the U.S. It's called ESPN Jeopardy and will be apparently be hosted by one time play-by-play man Joe Buck. As its name implies, it involves sports of all kinds and will have celebrity contestants playing for charity.
It isn't clear just yet if it will be shown on any Canadian outlet, although for sports fans, it may be a touchdown. But it's not the first one. A Sports Jeopardy series aired online for two years back in 2014.
Is it the last flavour of the game show that dates back to the 1960s? Given how flexible the format is, I wouldn't count on it.

How about my favourite (so far) fictional version of the franchise: "Dog Jeopardy!" featuring categories like "Things That Smell," "Bones," "Treats" and "I Hate Cats and Squirrels."
Can't wait for that one!

Lame.
For me, Jeopardy was interesting because of the range of topics. Some I knew, some I didn't. But now just having certain versions with people, most likely, knowledgeable on only that topic, dumb downs the show.
