With Ben Mulroney away again on Friday, his place on air will be taken by a fairly big name – Melissa Lantsman, the deputy opposition leader in Ottawa.
I know some here will instantly hate her because she’s a Conservative, but it will still be interesting to hear how she does hosting three hours of live talk radio. I believe she’s been in media before, so I’m expecting she’ll be fine on air.
But my real question is: how does Mulroney get so much time off from 640? It seems like every few weeks, he’s away on some extended absence. On Thursday, producer Mike Drolet and Brand Director Mike Bendixen were both sitting in for him.
Lantsman’s show starts at 3 PM.

I have listened to Lantsman being interviewed on CFRB and she is well spoken and knowledgeable so she should be a great fill in for Mulroney today, I think I’ll have to tune in for a bit!

Melissa Lantsman had a show on 1010 before entering politics, so she's quite familiar with radio.

Wow, I have no memory of that at all. She is very articulate, so it doesn't surprise me.

Another Tory hack preaching and screaming for 3 hours in a city where very few Tories live.

Suggested topic for the competing show: how fully-employed DEI hires with gold-plated pensions are swooping in and robbing broadcast professionals of their livelihoods.
