The Hammond Museum of Radio is located in Guelph, so it's not exactly next door for GTA residents. It contains a very impressive number of vintage radios, all the way back to the 1920s (including those with a large horn to boost the sound.)
It's normally accessible by appointment only, but on April 25th, Guelph is holding its "Doors Open" tour, where people can visit places that are normally closed to the public for free. And the Hammond Radio Museum is one of the sites to see. Access and tours start at 10 AM and go on until 4 in the afternoon. If you're going to be in that area and this interests you, it won't cost you anything to go and check out its large collection of more than 2,000 vintage broadcast and amateur radio equipment.
