It's not often an anchor of a show becomes its biggest story, but it remains to be seen how NBC will handle the return of Savannah Guthrie to its morning "Today" program after the tragic disappearance and kidnapping of her mother more than two months ago.
No one is quite sure what to expect, except that it could be one of the biggest days ever for a show that's been on every weekday morning since 1952.
"Guthrie’s return to anchoring on Monday is expected to draw big crowds. Monday’s “Today” may be one of the most-watched morning-news telecasts in recent memory."

From a CBC News report this is what happened, no big fanfare or gushing. Probably just the way she wanted it to be...
“It is good to be home,” Guthrie said to co-anchor Craig Melvin and the camera.
“It is good to have you back at home,” Melvin said.“OK, here we go. Ready or not, let’s do the news,” she said.
and from NBC itself...
"We are so glad you started your week with us, and it is good to be home," Guthrie said at the start of the show. She wore a yellow dress, echoing the yellow ribbons and flowers left at her mother's home. Craig Melvin, Guthrie’s co-host, patted her hand and replied: "Yes, it is good to have you at home."
Introducing an opening segment about the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, Guthrie said: "Well, here we go, ready or not — let's do the news."
