It may already be too late to completely save PBS, but at least there's a glimmer of hope. A U.S. federal judge has permanently blocked an order from the U.S. President to stop funding for PBS & NPR. He cited the First Amendment as one of the reasons the withdrawal of money was illegal.
This is not a done deal by any means - you know the White House will immediately appeal the ruling. But it gives a small bit of hope to stations like WNED Buffalo and WTVS Detroit that they could one day be back to business as usual.
