It's the "untold" story of the man who started out with Hart Pomerantz (now a lawyer) on CBC Radio, then writing for the smash hit Laugh-In on NBC, before being called back to Toronto to do a variety show on CBC-TV called "The Hart & Lorne Terrific Hour."
(There is an amazing video on the CBC website that offers scenes from that show, and it's definitely worth a watch here. The Lorne Michaels part starts around the 4 minute mark and he's almost unrecognizable behind that moustache and the huge hair, as seen in the screen grabs below.)
As everyone knows by now, Michaels again left for the U.S. and has been in charge of Saturday Night Live for most of its 50 years. Now the tables are turned - the man who put so many others on camera is himself looking into the lens, as part of a major documentary on his life and career. You can see the trailer below and the film hits theatres in April.
