The New Future Of Radio? Stations You Can Instantly Talk Back To

Besides being a musician with the Black Eyed Peas, will-i-am fancies himself something of a futurist and a pioneer. His latest project? To save rapidly fading radio.

His solution is combining human input with A.I. help to create a series of radio stations you can talk back to. The project is called FYI RAiDiO, which allows you to talk to your device in the car and get the information you want about anything, from more facts about an artist to the latest news specifically tailored to your interests.

"For his next trick, will switches over to a news station, and the radio starts playing the daily headlines in between musical breaks. In these moments, you can ask questions about the content, suggest different tunes or ask to be recommended artists based on your current tastes/vibes.

We put the AI’s acuity to the test by asking it to give the most recent Ukraine headlines from both right- and left-wing perspectives, which it also does promptly. So, while the FYI team is curating the content on the backend, AI can welcome curiosity and different perspectives."

He believes it's the future of the medium. Would you want this? Or do you prefer human-only input when you're listening to the radio (or should that be RAiDiO?)

The Ai's good for a music format, but for my news, I prefure a human to read it.
The AI is not that smart, even when it comes to music.
Can you actualy choose your own music, or will it just be rap, lofi, and pop?
Could I ask it to play the irish rovers, josh groben, or jim reevs?

I got the impression from the article that you could ask for any song or format genre and it would play it on your "radio."
