Three T.O. Broadcaster-Related Personalities Receive Order Of Ontario

It's a symbolic award but to some it carries an honourary weight. Three broadcaster-related people are among those who have received the Order of Ontario and you'll definitely know all their names.

The controversial Don Cherry is the first one.

Edward Rogers, who controls Rogers Communications, is on the list.

And perhaps a surprise, City TV host Tracy Moore. Why her?

"Moore, who initially pursued a career in law, discovered her passion for journalism while volunteering at her campus radio station CKUT-FM at McGill University. Her career has spanned both television and radio, including her role as host of the popular daytime talk show “Cityline” on Citytv.

A statement on the province’s site described Moore as “a host and producer, who leverages her platforms to confront systemic racism, including co-creating Citytv’s award-winning special ‘Ending Racism: What Will it Take?’”

Why shouldn't Tracy be on the list, she's an excellent broadcaster!

She's definitely earned it. By surprise, I just meant I didn't expect those who make up the list to pay any real attention to a City TV personality. I briefly worked with Tracy and she was a wonderful lady. Almost too nice, in fact!
