The three stations in Sault Michigan only owe about $33,000 in taxes and rent.  I am sure they will start up a go fund me appeal.  Sault Ste. Marie ON has two commercial FM stations at 100.5 and 104.3 with A/C and Mainstream Rock formats, both owned by Rogers.  Also a couple of CBC stations and a Christian outlet. 

The American stations in the Sault have Canadian advertising and the two Rogers stations have some US advertising, mostly local.  The US stations tend to focus on the Ontario side, which has a larger population.  About 14,000 compared to 72,000.
 
 

I saw a news story on Facebook that someone copied and pasted from the Timmins group page regarding how Rogers had closed two local radio stations and the building is now empty. The stations now just simulcast shows from elsewhere. The only local station that still broadcasts from there  is a country music one. I do recall that at least 12 years ago the afternoon show on the rock station was simulcast from North Bay. My son was an intern there through Canadore College's broadcasting course at the time, and we sat in while the dj did cut ins for Timmins while broadcasting on the North Bay station as well.
