Hannah Witherbee and Jonny Parks are waking up Windsor with The Morning X With Hannah & Jonny beginning Tuesday, Jan. 6. The program is available weekdays on 89X from 6a.m. – 10 a.m. ET, and streaming live on iHeart.com and the iHeartRadio Canada app. Making the move from across the hall at 93.9 Virgin Radio, Jonny Parks begins with 89X on Tuesday, with Hannah joining the show following her maternity leave in September 2026. “It’s a huge honour to a be part of such a legendary station,” said Jonny Parks. “We’ve had so much fun waking up with Windsor over the past five years on Virgin Radio, and now having the chance to play the music that I grew up obsessed with on 89X is the cherry on top.” Taking over at 93.9 Virgin Radio are Kim Scott and Lexie Farrer. Their new morning show will begin on Monday, Jan. 19.

The changes on air at Windsor morning shows on Virgin 93.9 and 89X understandably didn't spark much comment or even views on SOWNY. In Detroit on the Detroit Radio and TV Buzzboard, another story. Interesting to read the comments on the changes. Be warned some language, rude personal comments, and politics in some of the posts...Moves at Windsor’s 89X, 93.9 Virgin Radio - Michigan Radio & TV Buzzboard

The talk on that forum directly reflects the state of their country vile and unintelligent.

I know, I was hesitant to put it up. That's why I thought I should have a disclaimer. You need to sift through the garbage to get to the comments about 89X and Virgin. That site does have some good discussions but often gets off track with very mean and personal comments about other posters and media people in the Detroit area.
It is interesting when someone comments on Canadian media; most of the posters are very familiar with the formats and ownership of stations in Windsor and Southwestern Ontario and usually have something interesting to say. Although the poster who said that CIMX in Windsor and CJQM in Sault St. Marie dropping country music because of some anti US sentiment is off base. And many don't have a clear or up to date understanding of some of the CRTC regs. for radio. But in fairness we often don't either! ![]()
